Another busy month in MuuMuu Land! Our newest single, called “Stuff” was released on Bandcamp on May 20th, 2023. It was meant to come out on the 19th but someone (me) forgot to release the hound on time - too much stuff going on, I guess! No matter, it is out in the world now and we're looking forward to listener feedback.

Meanwhile, an upcoming tune (tentatively titled “A Slow Song”) has occupied our creative kitchens. This is a bit of a stylistic departure for us, with a slower tempo swing feel and - hopefully - a whole lot of female guest backing vocals! Why, you ask? Because, dear reader(s), it is about the glorious gals who are often on-mic in the back line of live shows, adding the je ne c'est quoi that make the band's vocalist(s) sound so sonorous (as opposed to snorey-us!)
Mancave Studio has been working on the “proof of concept” demo, adding fresh percussion, bass, and keyboard tracks to the guitars and “placeholder” vocals that have come in from the UK. We're still tweaking the lyrics. In fact, in keeping with the cooking analogy, we're deftly experimenting with a whole lot of yummy ingredients. We'll keep you posted as things start to simmer.
What else? As if that wasn't enough, we've been working with our publisher (Awking Songs Publishing) to tidy up lots of essential paperwork that will allow them to start pitching MuuMuu songs to various A&R folks, music supervisors and other places in the English speaking world where tunes are needed. What will become of that? We'll see! But if anything does materialize, chances are you'll learn about it here first.
As the summer begins to unfold, we'll continue to write new songs and record the ones we feel are MuuMuu worthy. Meanwhile, my local band, Side Street, has lots of bookings this summer in the greater Boston area, including a big show at The Burren Backroom (Somerville, MA) on June 30th. Tim continues to partner with his friend Royston Vince on a YouTube livestream called BritaliaLive, giving folks brilliant insights into music and literature - in Italian and in English.
