Random thoughts as 2025 comes to an end...

Ah, December.  The season of mellow fruit-fullness and consumer madness is once again upon us and its good news and bad news from your chums in Ditch the MuuMuu.

First the bad news. The Difficult 2nd Album will not be ready to purchase as a Christmas 2025 stocking stuffer for your loved ones just yet (insert appropriate other religious festival of giving here).  Now the good news; it will be ready to buy, download, and clutch to your bosom some time in early 2026.

As I write this missive from within the granite walls of MuuMuu tower’s plush U.K. headquarters, I am listening back to our 13 new tracks with a smile on my face. Yes, 13 mini masterpieces - recorded in hand-picked studios the length and breadth of the known world.

Contributing musicians are even now clambering to have their names correctly spelled on the sleeve notes. We are carefully considering cover art - always a tricky subject - but we think we might have the image.  A candid shot of our heroes and 2 cows relaxing in a Twyford, UK field (Eric and Tim relaxing. What the cows were doing is… debatable).

Equally tricky is sequencing the tracks. What order should they be in?  Do the songs follow on from each other? Should we a shock our dedicated listeners with adjacent clashing styles and genres?  These are the things I think about.

Meanwhile, I’m struggling with the simple fact that when we get a run of vinyl albums pressed, we are apparently restricted to just 18 mins a side, which won’t leave room for all of the afore mentioned 13 songs.  And you had the audacity to wonder why we are calling this “The Difficult Second Album”!

So, what’s a MuuMuu to do?

Some of the new tunes will be held back, of course.  But fear not. They shall find their way into the world, possibly as bonus material on a CD.  They might even appear on the next vinyl project that we are calling “The Improbable 3rd Album”. In the meantime, they are already available as singles, purchasable and downloadable from Bandcamp. Just visit www.ditchthemuumuu.bandcamp.com
Serious consideration is being given to releasing the next epic in mono and as wax cylinder or car 8 track cassette only.
Add into the mix the fact that my home studio has ‘crashed’ again, and that Eric is working on a new piece of music featuring a snoring dog called Finn… who knows what the future holds. But rest assured that DTM will be there, “conquering world 2 ears at a time”!

Our best wishes to you for a marvelous holiday season.
