Hello dear people!
If a band is busy with stuff in the background but not sharing news of it, has anything actually happened? In our case, a ton of stuff has been doing (and brewing) but - since we've been phenomenally bad bloggers - no one knows about it.
The music press must be completely up in arms about this, having to cover Taylor, Beyonce, Bad Bunny, and industry developments like Spotify changing its artist distributions and Bandcamp being sold... So we offer this.
We are indeed alive and well, having weathered some family illness complications and life business challenges. In no particular order:
We're putting the finishing touches on a new single called "Like Minded People" which features the powerful drumming of one Ben Swan. Tim was on hand for the session where "Bashin' Ben" blasted an already energetic track into some neighboring solar system. We can't wait to get this one finished and added to our trove of singles on Bandcamp. You'll want to turn up the music to the maximum on this track.
We're also about to re-release the single called "Ladies Who Sing" that we posted in August 2023 on our Bandcamp site. "Wait!" you say. "What??? Can they do that?" Yes, we can!
While we were quite pleased with the song, and have gotten some positive feedback for it, there was a nagging feeling that a more dynamic drum track and some arrangement tweaking was merited. As an experiment, we enlisted our pal Doug Kwartler, who has played drums on a number of our tracks, and - voila. Percussion with swing boosts the ladies who sing. Once we've finished the new mix, we'll swap out the original for the new and improved version.
Lastly, we've been getting internet radio airplay... in Greece! DJ Chronisd has discovered Ditch The MuuMuu and has been playing us on his weekly show called barfly on www.strummerradio.com which airs Saturday nights from 10p-11p EEST (8P GMT and 3P EST). Even if you don't speak Greek, his music curation is magical. And hearing our name announced with a Greek accent is simply divine!
