Blog neglect is sometimes due to an abundance of blessings

I can't believe that our last post was back in February.   Wot?????

We honestly intend to provide updates on all things MuuMuu on a monthly basis.  Why?  Actually, that is a good question!  Clearly it is not because the press are clamoring for the latest MuuMuu details – though the media did surprise us recently with a wonderful (and mostly true) article in the UK's Hampshire Chronicle!

We (unreliably it would seem) write and post this blog ourselves because our “assistant” refuses to assist unless we pay a fair and livable wage.  And since our music doesn't (yet) generate a fair and livable wage for us, said assistant assisteth not.  It's a perfect arrangement.

But I digress.  Here in Luskin land, it was a very, very busy month of March, followed by a ton of travel in April.  The first week we were in the San Francisco area for a family wedding. After returning home for a few days, we then jetted off to London for a long overdue vacation visiting with Tim and his family.

We Bostonians were last in the UK back in June of 2019, so it felt great to be back. Among the many joys of this journey - actually having some Eric/Tim time together to rehearse and perform some Ditch The MuuMuu material.

As the above article confirms, a long awaited Ditch The MuuMuu UK tour indeed took place.  A tour?  How exciting!

Actually, it was a mini-tour.

Well, really, a micro-mini-tour...

Two bona fide gigs in 24 hours, with an epic in-transit car breakdown thrown in for good measure.

We opened with an exclusive showcase at the acclaimed Swiss Cottage in Twyford (outside of Winchester) on April 17th.

The following day, we overcame the stress of Maddie the Volvo's late afternoon in-transit engine failure (smack dab in the middle of London traffic)…

to delight the locals at Nunhead's The Man Of Kent pub.

A few days later, still riding the high from MuuMuu Mania, we scheduled some time in a nearby studio with our friend Ben Swan who added drums for our soon-to-be-released single called “Pretty Poison”.  We're very excited about this one. It's a rocker - and Bashin' Ben absolutely nailed it.

We packed a lot into two weeks!  It was hard to say good bye but, after much frivolity, historic gardens, theatre (3 shows), and day trips to touristy places and off-the-beaten-path gems, it was time for Terry and me to return to reality.  Best of all, our friendship with the Barrons endures, and the proof-of-concept gigs were a smashing success. Recording and writing at a distance is one thing. But we really can play live music in front of live people. THAT was the icing on the cake.

More MuuMuu news to follow in May.  I'll get Tim started on that now. :)
