Correcting an error and other developments

Well, well, well... Guess who didn't follow through on last month's “we promised the people” list? That would be me (Eric). It seems that I neglected to put our new song called “Pretty Poison” up on the Bandcamp site. Tim referenced it heavily in our last post and... All I can say is: Oooops.

Having now corrected that error (check out https://ditchthemuumuu.bandcamp.com/track/pretty-poison to verify), we can safely move on to other promises!

It has indeed been extremely busy in MuuMuuland. Since last we wrote, and despite family vacations and other assorted business, we've nearly completed the final songs for The Difficult 2nd Album project. Really? Truly! Following on the heels of Pretty Poison, we started and have nearly completed a touching ballad called “Not A Prayer”, and have finally finished mixing a heap of background vocals for the aptly titled song called “Hurry Up And Wait”.*

But that is not all. As a bonus extra, I have revisited an old song of mine from the mid 1970's – completely re-working the lyrics. This tune goes back to our university days in East Anglia. In fact, it is one that Tim would have sung with our then band, Yankee Go Home, when we performed in the pubs of Norwich, England. It's now called “Forty Seven Fears” and Tim did a masterful job on background vocals, incorporating some of the elements we did back in the day. It's now a righteous rock song that is quite cathartic to sing. I know that because my local trio, Side Street, has been performing it this summer at all of our shows. But I digress...

We're not yet certain that all of our “newly” written songs will make it onto The Difficult 2nd Album simply because some of them veer off in different sonic directions. However, we'll absolutely release all of them as singles on Bandcamp. So keep your eyes (and ears) open for new postings. And let us know what you think about “Pretty Poison” which features our friend Ben Swan on drums.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

*  For those of you who noticed the asterisk and are now reading this - a bit of MuuMuu trivia.  On our first album (Worth Its Wait), Tim's daughter, Vinnie, contributed background vocals on our song "Make Amends".  In a full circle moment, my daughter, Kate, can be heard on "Hurry Up And Wait".  When will you get to hear the grandkids?   That's gotta be in the cards for the future, right?
