The blog from London

This has been an unusual month from an unusual 2 years.  I started putting together photos for the cover of our long awaited CD. (Hence its name "Worth its Wait")

Whether we have solved the problem of putting together a photo of the 2 principal players in Ditch the MuuMuu awaits to be seen, but it has been fun trying.

Following strict social distancing regulations, I was photographed singing into one side of a stereo microphone for my partner to photoshop himself in as a mirror image. Will it work? Who knows? The more observant amongst you may notice in the photo I have 'product ' in my hair. Why? I was told to by our stylist Izzy and she knows about such things!

The sleeve notes proved equally taxing to compile when all the contributing chums were considered and named. Pseudonyms have to be taken into consideration of course.

I recently visited the jazz venue that inspired the writing of our song 'Jimmy C & his 3D knee'. The club in question was Ronnie Scotts in Frith street. I had imagined an evening barely recalled with a band playing who were so indescribably wonderful I doubted their, or the evenings, very existence.  Did it happen? Was it so?  As is inevitable with 'Ronnies', the band this time were brilliant  -- 'The Yellow Jackets'. Why does Dane Alderson play a fretless 6 string bass when mortals like me use 2 less strings & 24 more frets? Only the jazz gods know...
