The Ditch The MuuMuu journey started back in 1975 when Tim Barron and Eric Luskin met at The University of East Anglia in Norwich (UK). Tim was a first year in Environmental Sciences. Eric was a visiting student from Trinity College (Hartford, CT, USA). It was a unique moment in time, living in the now-defunct environs of Waveny Terrace where an international cadre of characters pursued their studies - and many late nights of music making. Fast forward to the Pandemic of 2019. The two friends of nearly 40 years decided to experiment with making music "remotely", utilizing the technology of the day. Files flew back and forth across the Atlantic. E-mails were exchanged. Whatsapp facetime calls were enjoyed. And songs started to evolve.

Our first track was "Strange Things", released on Bandcamp in June 2020. We knew we were on to something and, encouraged by friends and family, we continued to write and record - strategically augmenting our sound with various musical partners. By June, 2022, we had completed 12 musically diverse tracks that we now unleash on an unsuspecting world.

We agree with the comments we've received from friends in the industry. Reactions like "Reminiscent, not derivative", "Mysterious and baffling - like nothing you've ever heard before (in a good way!)", "Worth Its Wait offers a range of sound and ideas that grow on you with each repeated play", "Woa.. Sounds very San Francisco 60's!" and "...philosophically I’m right behind you!" make us smile. John Q. Public find us "Clever, edgy, funny [and] delightfully weird!", which makes us beam.

It has taken us 41 years to launch Ditch The MuuMuu. We believe it's been worth its wait. Note: In recognition of the ups and downs life has thrown at us, proceeds from CD sales will benefit Cancer Research UK. The physical CD is currently a UK Only release, with digital downloads available on all major streaming platforms. All download sales of the album from our website will be donated to Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston.
